Loss of Power Surge leads to rolling blackouts in San Marcos.

I am truly saddened by the closure of the Power
Surge this month in San Marcos. For the past 4 years I have spent
every Thursday night hosting the open mic night at the coffeehouse.
It has been an outrageous bunch of fun and has been
a great opportunity to be part of the family of friends, workers,
patrons, and players that have created a community at the coffeehouse
.Thank you to the Power Surge for providing the catalyst and roof
(although leaky) over our heads. Thank you to all the terrific people
I have met over the years. And thank you to all the players who have
turned out to make it one of most diverse and friendliest performing
atmospheres anywhere. It has been magic!
In order to continue with the tradition, I will
be moving the Thursday night open mic to Wednesday nights at the Metaphor
Café in Escondido. We will begin next week (April 24h) from 8:00pm
till 11:00pm. I hope to create a night there that will continue with
the fun and diverse energy you have all made possible.
